According to reports at the meeting, in 2021, the IST made a large contribution to prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Public Security Forces.
In particular, the IST mobilized its whole laboratories and personnel to conduct SARS-CoV-2 virus tests for thousands of public security officers and soldiers working at vulnerable places, organized conferences on the pandemic and took effective approaches to control the pandemic.
It also made much progress in researching medicines in order to support the treatment of Covid-19.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen asked the IST to cooperate with national and international research centers to boost transfers of new technologies while promoting production of equipment for the fight against crimes.
He also requested the IST to speed up its assigned scientific research projects.
