The Ministry of Public Security held a groundbreaking ceremony for Gia Binh Airport, the first airport for the Public Security Forces, on the morning of December 10th, in Gia Binh, Bac Ninh.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a keynote speech at the ceremony.

Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Public Security Party Central Committee and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang chaired the ceremony.

The event also saw the presence of several Members of the Party Central Committee, including Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang and Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan.

Realizing Resolution No. 12 by the Politburo and Plan No. 118 by the Public Security Party Central Committee on building truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern Public Security Forces to meet the task requirements in the new situation, the Mobile Police Force is one of the six police forces prioritized to advance straight towards modernity by 2025.

When it is finished, Gia Binh Airport will be a strategic security and defense infrastructure project, effectively serving the combat command system of the Public Security Forces.

Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh underlined that Gia Binh Airport, the first airport to be run by the Public Security Forces, will be used for both security and civilian purposes, saying that it can contribute to the expansion of the airport system and the growth of the aviation economy as well as the country’s socio-economic development.

On behalf of leaders of the Government, the Prime Minister highly appreciated the close coordination between the Ministry of Public Security and involved ministries and branches in implementing the project of Gia Binh Airport.

The Prime Minister requested that all involved ministries and branches should speed up the implementation of phase 1 of the project, while promptly preparing documents and procedures for the next phase.

On behalf of the Public Security Party Central Committee, the Ministry of Public Security and the entire Public Security Forces, Minister Luong Tam Quang sincerely thanked Party and State’s leaders and the Prime Minister personally for the concern and care for the Public Security Forces, and especially when they had approved the investment policies for various important projects of strategic significance with the aim of modernizing the Public Security Forces.

The Minister pledged that the entire Public Security Forces will spare no effort to overcome all difficulties and challenges while implementing the project of Gia Binh Airport in particular and other projects ahead of the deadlines and meeting all technical and architectural standards so as to modernize the Public Security Forces in line with Resolution No. 12 by the Politburo on building truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern Public Security Forces.
