Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Permanent Vice-Chairman of the MPS Theoretical Council Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung chaired the conference.

The conference aimed to discuss new trends of crime and law violations, comprehensively assess the current crime situation, analyze the causes and conditions for the new types of crime as well difficulties of the law enforcement forces in preventing and fighting the types of crime, put forth approaches to effectively detect, prevent and combat all types of crime and law violations in cyberspace.

Delegates discuss related issues on the sidelines of the conference.

At the conference, delegates focused their discussions on changing trends of crime and law violations of security and order in cyberspace, and tasks of the Public Security Forces in preventing and combating cybercrime, and methods of deploying technology development strategies to ensure cybersecurity in Vietnam.

Concluding the conference, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung stressed that the global cybersecurity situation will continue to become increasingly complicated, posing difficulties and challenges to the Public Security Forces in ensuring national security and sovereignty in cyberspace as well as in combating high-tech crime.

The Deputy Minister also requested relevant units and agencies to complete the theoretical framework on prevention and combat of cybercrime in order to create a firm basis for renovating crime prevention and control work suitable for new developments in the current crime situation.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung also underlined the need to learn about the shortcomings and limitations in the State management of cybersecurity and high-tech crime control, take effective measures to protect State secrets in cyberspace, as well as train and build the capacity of police officers in charge of combating cybercrime.
