The event saw the presence of senior officials from of the Ministry of Public Security of the two countries as well as former Vietnamese police experts who used to work in Laos and Lao police officers who used to study at public security education institutions in Vietnam.
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, delegates at the event shared their good memories and impressions when they worked or studied in the other country. The event was part of the activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962) and 45 years since Vietnam and Laos signed the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation on July 18, 1977, as well as the “Vietnam – Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year 2022”.
Specially, Former Vietnamese police experts in Laos and former Lao students in Vietnam delivered speeches telling their stories and presenting historical documents on the cooperation between the two countries’ Public Security Forces.
Listening to the stories, both Vietnamese and Lao delegates highly appreciated the silent sacrifice and contribution of former Vietnamese police experts to Laos when they worked in the country.
Specially, Vietnam alumni recalled their unforgettable memories, Vietnamese people’s great support and friendship during the time they studied in Vietnam.
In addition, the delegates reviewed and assessed the results of cooperation between the two ministries over the past years and outlined directions for the bilateral cooperation in the coming time.
