General To Lam, Politburo Member and Minister of Public Security, on May 7 praised officers and soldiers participating in the grand ceremony and parade marking the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.

The meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Northwest Mobile Police Regiment after the grand ceremony, saw the presence of Deputy Ministers of Public Security: Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, and leaders of Dien Bien province as well as units under the Ministry of Public Security and over 1,200 public security officers and soldiers participating in the grand ceremony.

Major General Le Ngoc Chau, Commander of the Mobile Police Force Command, briefed Minister To Lam and other delegates on the efforts and results of the officers and soldiers joining the parade.

Speaking at the event, Minister To Lam applauded the effort of all participants, saying that they had made great contributions to the overall success of the ceremony.

The minister also spoke highly of the preparations and coordination between the MPS and the Ministry of Defense.

The ceremony has made great impression on the local people and international friends, contributing to promoting patriotism and solidarity among the people.

Minister To Lam asked the Mobile Police Command and the Provincial Police Department of Dien Bien and relevant units to review all the work and overcome the shortcomings.

Minister To Lam hands certificate of merit to outstanding individuals and teams. 

They should be ready and continue to train hard as the country would mark major celebrations in the coming year, namely the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, 80th founding day of the Public Security Forces.

He also asked functional departments and units to carry out policies for officers and soldiers participating in the grand ceremony and parade.

Minister To Lam took the chance to thank the Party organizations and authorities of Dien Bien province, the People’s Army and press agencies for their effective support and assistance given to the public security officers and soldiers during the preparation and rehearsal for the celebration.

He also hoped that they would further support the Public Security Forces in the cause of ensuring national security and social order, protecting grand cerebrations of the country in the coming time.
