MPS honors public security athletes achieving high records at 8th Vietnam National Games

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on December 11 organized a ceremony to honor its sport delegation participating in the 8th Vietnam National Games 2018. Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, chaired the event.

The ceremony also saw the presence of Mr. Pham Van Tuan, Vice Director of the Department of Sports under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The National Games is the largest sport event of Vietnam, taking place in every 4 years with the participation of teams from all centrally-run cities and provinces as well as the Public Security Forces and Army.

This year’s edition lasted 3 weeks and consisted of 21 sport events. The athletes of the Public Security Forces participated in 19 events, and won 81 medals, including 23 gold, 24 silver and 34 bronze medals, ranked 7th among the participating delegations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister To Lam honored the efforts and records of the athletes and coaches, which had improved the rank of the sport delegation of the Public Security Forces at a National Games.

He also called on all public security officers and soldiers to participate actively in sport movements, and asked relevant agencies and units under the Ministry of Public Security to coordinate with the sport sector to enhance training of the high-record athletes and talents and create better living and training conditions for athletes.
