MPS honors typical examples of communal-level police force and at-grassroots security and order protection support force

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a meeting with typical examples from the communal-level police force and the at-grassroots security and order protection support force, on January 18th, in Hanoi.

Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang chaired the meeting.

The meeting also saw the presence of Deputy Ministers of Public Security, leaders of under-ministerial police departments and 127 typical examples from the communal-level police force and the at-grassroots security and order protection force, representing over tens of communal-level police officers and hundreds of officers of the at-grassroots security and order protection support force nationwide.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang underlined that the deployment of commissioned police forces to communes and townships nationwide has contributed to effectively addressing security and order issues early and at the grassroots, significantly supporting socio-economic development in localities.

The communal-level police force has also made large contributions to the building of the national population database and the production, issuance, and management of citizen chip-based ID cards, while playing a key role in implementing the Government-launched Project 06 with the aim of accelerating the national digital transformation process.

Although the at-grassroots security and order protection support force has recently been established, they have actively participated in building the “All people protecting national security” movement and supported the communal-level police force in quickly identifying and thoroughly addressing complicated security and order issues in the community, contributing to minimizing factors and conditions leading to crimes and social evils and preventing the emergence of complicated security and order hotbeds.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and MPS leaders, Minister Luong Tam Quang praised the communal-level police force and the at-grassroots security and order protection support force, especially the 127 typical examples present at today's meeting, for their accomplishments over the past time.

To meet the two forces’ task requirements in the new situation, Minister Luong Tam Quang stressed the need to focus on building the communal-level police force to be truly clean, closely connected with the grassroots as well as strong and comprehensive in terms of political ideology and organization work, underlining that the force should be capable of thoroughly grasping the local situation and ensuring security and order in support of developing the local socio-economy and improving the quality of lives of the people.

Minister Luong Tam Quang also requested the at-grassroots security and order protection support force to truly be the "ears," "eyes," and "extended arms" of the communal-level police force, actively supporting to ensure security and order in localities.
