MPS hosts meeting on social housing development for Public Security Forces

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) convened a meeting to disseminate Resolution No. 201/2025/QH15 promulgated on May 29, 2025 by the National Assembly and Decree No. 192/2025/ND-CP issued on July 1, 2025 by the Government on piloting several special mechanisms and policies to implement social housing projects for officers of the Public Security Forces, on the morning of August 28, in Hanoi.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Dang Hong Duc chaired the meeting.

According to a report presented at the meeting, as of August 2025, about 58,000 public security officers and enlistees nationwide are in need of housing. Of the figure, some 22,700 officers in Hanoi and 10,000 in Ho Chi Minh City.

As of August 19, 2025, the MPS started four projects, including three in Hanoi and one in Ho Chi Minh City, totalling about 2,750 apartments. 

For the remaining 32 provinces and cities, the MPS is actively working with local authorities to survey and find suitable land plots for housing development projects.

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing key contents of the National Assembly’s Resolution No. 201 and the Government’s Decree No. 192, as well as procedures for investment in housing projects for the Public Security Forces. They also pointed out difficulties and obstacles to the implementation of housing projects and gave solutions to the issues.

In his concluding remarks, Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc said that the housing development projects for the Public Security Forces have so far achieved positive results, thanks to the sound leadership of the Public Security Central Party Committee and MPS leadership and the support of local authorities.

He expressed his hope that authorities of cities and provinces will continue to provide close coordination and support for housing development projects for public security officers so that the projects can be implemented as planned and achieved the targets set by the Government and the Prime Minister.

Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc believed that the policy on social housing development for the Public Security Forces will be effectively realized, and the ongoing projects will become a model of social fairness and benefit to be replicated nationwide in the future.
