MPS hosts scientific conference on building and managing VNeID system in digital era

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) hosted a scientific conference on building and managing the electronic identification and authentication (VNeID) system in a secure and modern manner, meeting the requirements for scientific and technological development, innovation and national digital transformation in the digital era, on the morning of September 11 in Hanoi.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Permanent Deputy Head of the Working Group for the Implementation of Project 06, chaired the conference.

In recent times, under the leadership and direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, the MPS has coordinated with ministries and sectors to advise the Government to issue Decree No. 69/2024/ND-CP on electronic identification and authentication. The MPS has also directly engaged in the construction, operation, exploitation and application of the VNeID system and achieved important initial results.

Thanks to these efforts, the system has gradually affirmed its crucial role and served as the core foundation for state management, transactions, interactions and service delivery in cyberspace.

The conference aimed to review the one-year implementation of Decree No. 69, promote the exchange of practical experiences, and propose technological solutions, technical standards, management and governance methods, network security and safety, as well as to discus challenges and opportunities for electronic identification and authentication in Vietnam.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long affirmed that the Government had entrusted the MPS to lead the upgrade and development of the VNeID platform, with the aim of turning it into the single national gateway for interactions between the Government and citizens and businesses, which is fully connected with the National Public Service Portal.

Over the past time, the Working Group for the Implementation of Project 06 and the MPS have coordinated with ministries, sectors and agencies to deploy digital technology solutions in various fields such as education, public administration and transportation.

At the conference, delegates participated in in-depth discussions on both theoretical and practical aspects, including ensuring technical infrastructure for data connection and sharing, improving the legal framework, promoting technology application, and expanding the range of utilities integrated into the VNeID platform.

Concluding the conference, Director of the Police Department of Social Order Administrative Management Major General Vu Van Tan expressed gratitude to experts, ministries, sectors, organizations and enterprises for their valuable contributions to perfecting the legal framework for building and managing the VNeID system. 

He hoped they would continue accompanying the MPS in implementing digital transformation utilities, thereby delivering greater value to the State, businesses and citizens.
