Experts from UNODC and UNICEF clarified the mission and core pillars of the UNODC’s Global Programme on Cybercrime, updated on results of UNICEF’s research on prevention of child abuse in Vietnam as well as exchanged hands-on experience in investigating and handling cases of online child sexual exploitation and abuse in Spain and Japan.

In Vietnam, the protection of children in cyberspace has been articulated in many legal documents, including the Law on Information Technology, the Law on Cyberinformation Security, the Law on Children and the Law on Cybersecurity.

Notably, the program “Protecting and supporting children to do healthy and creative things in cyberspace in the 2021-2025 period” approved by the Prime Minister has become Vietnam’s first national program of this kind.
