MPS Inspectorate works with Dong Nai province on drug combat

PSNews- Inspectorate Division 839 on Anti-Drugs under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) led by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security worked with the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Commitee.

After a month, the Inspectorate Division had basically finished inspecting all aspects related to the observation of the laws on drug combat in Dong Nai province, said Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh at the working session.

On the basis of the outcomes, the Deputy Minister asked participants at the working session to give opinions and ideas to the draft inspection report before submitting it to the leadership of the MPS.

According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh, the fight against drug-related crimes has witnessed various complicated developments, especially in border areas of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, and illegal drug trafficking in the area has seen a rising trend and more sophisticated tricks.

Furthermore, the number of murders and massacres related to drugs also increased in certain localities. Therefore, the prevention and combat against drug-related crimes has been considered a top priority by the MPS, other involved ministries and branches as well as localities.

At the working session, the Inspectorate Division also announced the Draft Inspection Report on Observation of Laws on Drug Combat from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2016 by the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee and 7 relevant local units.
