The event saw the presence of leaders of under-ministerial departments, provincial police departments, education and training institutions, and prisons under the MPS.

Major General Nguyen Khac Thuy, Vice Director of the Department of Health, said that the investment, management, operation and use of technical systems for pollution treatment in the Public Security Forces over the years have achieved initial good results.

Over the past 10 years, up to hundreds of billions of VND have been invested in more than 200 wastewater and waste treatment systems for public security agencies and units. This investment has demonstrated that the Public Security Forces have strictly complied with the Party and State’s policies on environmental protection, contributing to ensuring a healthy living and working environment for public security officers and soldiers.

Delegates at the conference pointed out that the investment in construction of waste treatment systems at some units was not really effective. The main reason is that the units have had no personnel with professional expertise in managing, running and using the treatment system, as a result, the waste treatment systems have not been operated effectively. Other limitations mentioned by delegates included: waste treatment systems were not synchronous, and the units lacked budget for the operation, maintenance and repair of their waste systems.

Regarding solutions to the problems, delegates proposed that responsible agencies of the MPS should further improve the management and operation of waste treatment systems for public security agencies and units.

After the conference concluded, the Department of Health would collect opinions and report them on the MPS.
