MPS launches National Press Awards “For National Security and Peaceful Life” for 2026–2028 period

On the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21), the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a meeting with press agencies and journalists, on the afternoon of June 17, in Hanoi.

At the meeting, the MPS officially launched the National Press Awards themed “For National Security and Peaceful Life” for the 2026–2028 period.

Speaking at the event, Director of the Department of Information and Communications under the MPS Lieutenant General Do Trieu Phong affirmed that, thanks to the direction of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS leadership, public security units and agencies have maintained close coordination with press and media agencies inside and outside the Public Security Forces, regularly exchanging and providing precise information for them so that they can promptly and vividly reflect the Public Security Forces’ operations, combat and force-building activities on their publications.

According to the officer, the public security press sector also made positive contributions to encouraging people from all walks of life to effectively implement the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws, as well as to achieving national socio-economic development goals, firmly safeguarding national defense and security, promoting foreign affairs and international integration.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS leadership, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung highly appreciated the outstanding achievements of the public security press sector and the important contributions made by generations of journalists of all press and media agencies within and outside the Public Security Forces.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Press Awards is intended not only to honor outstanding journalistic works but also to strengthen public trust in the Party, the State and the People's Public Security Forces, while promoting the responsibility of the entire society in the cause of safeguarding national security.

Each entry, he noted, is not merely a journalistic product but also a responsible voice making a practical contribution to the cause of national construction and defense in the new era.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung requested the Awards Organizing Committee to continue improving communication activities, expand field-based programs, create favorable conditions for journalists to access the vivid real activities and operations of the Public Security Forces, and draw much attention of press and media agencies, journalists and people nationwide so that the Awards truly becomes a professional festival for journalists.

To bring into full play its role, position, functions and responsibilities on the ideological and cultural front, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung called on the public security press sector to maintain its pioneering role in information and communication work, vividly reflecting the real activities of the Public Security Forces’ implementing their core task of safeguarding national security, maintaining social order and safety and carrying out Party and force building.

He also urged public security press and media agencies to continuously innovate the form and content of their publications, efficiently apply science and technology, digital transformation and modern communication platforms to their journalistic work so that their articles and reportage on security and public order can draw much more attention of the public, particularly the young population.
