MPS leaders cast votes for deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils

In a jubilant atmosphere of all voters nationwide, voters at Polling Station No. 5 – the Ministry of Public Security, under Constituency No. 1, Hai Ba Trung ward, Hanoi, solemnly held the opening ceremony for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly of Vietnam and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, on the morning of March 15, 2026.

Attending the opening ceremony were Members of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Ministers of Public Security: Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung and Lieutenant General Dang Hong Duc.

Delivering the opening remarks, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel and Head of the Election Working Group Major General Pham Quang Tuyen emphasized that the election is a broad political, legal and democratic activity of the people, stressing that it holds significant meaning for voters nationwide and particularly for the voters in Hai Ba Trung ward.

He noted that the election provides an opportunity for citizens to exercise their democratic rights by selecting capable and virtuous representatives to serve in the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels.

To ensure the success of the election, Major General Pham Quang Tuyen called on voters at the polling station to fully exercise their rights and responsibility, strictly comply with voting principles and actively participate in the voting process so that the election day truly becomes a festival of democracy for the entire people.

Following the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications and member of the Election Working Group Senior Colonel Tran Cao Kieu presented the election procedures and regulations of the polling station.

To ensure the election was conducted openly, democratically and in accordance with regulations, the Election Working Group invited two voter representatives to inspect the main ballot box and the auxiliary ballot box before sealing them.

Following the procedures, the Deputy Ministers, officers and enlistees of under-ministerial units cast their votes for deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term.

Voting began at 7:00 a.m. and will conclude at 7:00 p.m. the same day.
