The Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a meeting with generations of high-ranking retired public security officers in the South on the occasion of the 2026 Lunar New Year, on February 1, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City.

Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang chaired the meeting.

The meeting saw the presence of former Member of the Politburo, former Prime Minister and former Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (now the MPS) Nguyen Tan Dung; former Member of the Politburo, former Permanent Member of the Secretariat and former Minister of Public Security General Le Hong Anh; as well as current and former Deputy Ministers of Public Security.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that, in 2025, the Public Security Forces successfully reached all the objectives and accomplished the tasks set forth at the beginning of the year.

The Minister noted that, through the year-end review, leaders of the Party, the State and ministries and sectors highly appreciated the overall results achieved by the Public Security Forces in 2025, emphasizing that these achievements and victories were importantly contributed by former Party and State leaders, former leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, high-ranking officers and generations of public security officers and enlistees.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed sincere gratitude to former Party and State leaders, former leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, as well as the contributions of Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces and Heroes of Labor, generals, officers and enlistees of the Public Security Forces for their valuable support over the years.

Briefing delegates on the results of the Public Security Forces’ performance in 2025 and key tasks for 2026, Minister Luong Tam Quang noted that 2025 was marked by many major national events, during which the Public Security Forces ensured absolute security and safety, letting no unexpected security situations occur, while the Public Security Forces also achieved positive outcomes in prevention and combat of violations of security and order, including those involving overseas elements.

Speaking at the meeting, a representative of the Vietnamese Former People’s Public Security Officers Association sincerely thanked the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security for their concern and care for retired public security officers, vowing to uphold the mettle and experience of the Public Security Forces and to accompany and support the Public Security Forces in ensuring security and order at the grassroots level.
