MPS, MOET sign coordination regulations

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) co-held a ceremony to sign their Coordination Regulations, on the afternoon of January 10, in Hanoi.

Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang and Member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son co-chaired the ceremony.

The event was attended by Deputy Ministers of Public Security, Deputy Ministers of Education and Training, representatives of under-ministerial units of both ministries as well as representatives of several tertiary education institutions.

Over recent years, through established coordination mechanisms, the two ministries have regularly exchanged information and worked closely in drafting legal normative documents, contributing to the improvement of mechanisms and policies on security and order in the education sector. They have also coordinated in safeguarding internal political security and protecting state secrets at agencies and units under the MOET and at educational institutions, while collaborating closely in ensuring security and safety during national-level examinations.

Based on achieved results, from practical requirements for security and order at educational institutions and the need for the renewal of State management of education and training in the new period, the MPS and the MOET agreed on newly drafted coordination regulations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Nguyen Kim Son affirmed that the signing of the coordination regulations is of special significance, as it does close the past cooperation between the two sides and opens a new phase of closer and more effective coordination in safeguarding national security and creating breakthroughs in education and training development. 

He wished that the education and training sector would receive further support from the MPS, saying that the MOET would effectively implement the agreed contents.

On behalf of the MPS, Minister Luong Tam Quang noted that cooperation between the two ministries has yielded many important results in recent times.

He emphasized that the newly signed coordination regulations would help concretize the Party’s and the State’s guidelines and policies on ensuring security and order, as well as on education and training.

To further enhance the efficiency of the two sides’ coordination, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his hope that the leadership of both ministries would direct functional units to translate the regulations into specific tasks and deliverables, in line with the spirit of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 71, Resolution No. 57 and Conclusion No. 158.
