MPS offers medical supplies to South Africa

PSNews - The Foreign Relations Department under the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony on July 22 to present medical supplies for COVID-19 prevention to the Police Ministry and the State Security Ministry of South Africa.

Under the authority of General To Lam, Minister of Public Security MPS, Major General Nguyen Thanh Son, Director of the Foreign Relations Department under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) handed over 20,000 medical facemasks to the South African Embassy in Vietnam in support of the Police Ministry of South Africa and the State Security Ministry of South Africa.

At the hand-over ceremony, Major General Nguyen Thanh Son highly appreciated the efforts of the Government and people of South Africa in the fight against COVID-19. He also believed that the Government and people of South Africa will quickly overcome the current difficult period and fully control the COVID-19 epidemic.

According to Major General Nguyen Thanh Son, despite the epidemic situation, the cooperation between Vietnam and South Africa has continuously strengthened. He also hoped that the relations between the two countries in general and the cooperation between the MPS of Vietnam and relevant South African agencies in particular will further develop.

Additionally, the MPS of Vietnam wished to receive more support from South African Ambassador to Vietnam Mpetjane Lekgoro for the bilateral cooperation in ensuring national security, maintaining security and order as well as protecting the Vietnamese citizens working and living in South Africa.

Sincerely thanking to the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, South African Ambassador Mpetjane Lekgoro emphasized the MPS’s timely support demonstrates the friendship between the two countries in general and between the two countries’ law enforcement agencies in particular in the fight against COVID-19.

He also affirms that he will continue to contribute to promoting relations between the two countries as well as between the South African law enforcement agencies and the MPS of Vietnam.
