MPS opens training conference on monitoring law enforcement

PSNews – The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on December 19 organized a video-conference to improve its officers’ skills in monitoring law enforcement of public security personnel and organizations.

The videoconference, connecting two terminals of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, saw the participation of 750 officers who were leaders and officers in charge of legal affairs of public security agencies and units.

Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Vu Huy Khanh, Vice Director of the Department of Legal Affairs and Administrative, Judicial Reforms, emphasized that monitoring law enforcement was among the urgent and strategic requirements of the Party and State in the renovation cause and a key phase in the process of implementing social management by and in accordance to the laws.

Therefore, watching law enforcement situations has a great significance in implementing the functions and duties of the Public Security Forces.

To successfully fulfil their major missions of protecting national security, and ensuring social order and safety, the Public Security Forces should strengthen the inspection and monitoring of law enforcement of the entire forces in order to exactly assess the current situation of law enforcement within the forces and suggest the Ministry of Public Security to take  approaches to improve the effectiveness of law enforcement and complete the legal system in general and the laws on security and order in particular.

Participants in the conference were briefed on the general issues and basic professional tactics in monitoring law enforcement. The conference also provided them with knowledge on the domain and principle of watching law enforcement, as well as concrete contents and activities of the process.
