MPS praises outstanding athletes

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on September 6 organized a meeting to praise athletes of the Public Security Forces achieving high records at the ASIAD 18.

Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security chaired the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam praised  the athletes and coaches of the Public Security Forces who had overcome all difficulties and achieved high records at the ASIAD 18, bringing the sport sector of the Public Security Forces to a new high position.

Minister Lam said that the Vietnam was ranked 16th among the 45 participating teams as the Vietnamese team won 38 medals, including 4 gold, 16 silver and 18 bronze medals.

Before the ASIAD 18, the athletes of the Public Security Forces selected for the national team had experienced hard and intensive training programs. They, with their high sense of responsibility to the country and resolve to achieve new records, contributed significantly to the successes of the Vietnamese team.

Minister Lam also asked the Department of Party and Political Work to promote the sport movement within the forces and professionalize the sports in accordance with specialties of the Public Security Forces while mobilizing more donors for the development of the sport movement, focusing on developing high-record sports, giving priority to key sports, and maintaining the position of the sport team of the Public Security Forces in Vietnam’s top 10.
