MPS reviews amendments of Law on Immigration

PSNews – The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) convened the first meeting of the Compilation Board and Editorial Team of the amended Law on Immigration on November 19. Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security, chaired the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by leaders of relevant ministries and sectors, members of the Compilation Board and Editorial Team of the Law on Immigration and other related representatives.

Over the past 10 months, the management over the entry and exit of Vietnamese citizens has been carried out well and contributed to ensuring national sovereignty and creating favorable environment for international integration and economic development.

However, the legal documents on immigration need timely amendments and supplements.

Participants at the meeting agreed on various issues related to the law. They also asked the Compilation Board and the Editorial Team to reorganize the law project and supplement specific provisions on the process of granting passports with and without electronic chips, and more.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam hailed the efforts of the Compilation Board and the Editorial Team and asked them to make appropriate amendments to the law and soon submit it to the Government and National Assembly.
