MPS reviews fire and rescue work in first quarter

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a meeting to review results of the first-quarter work plan of the Fire and Rescue Police Force nationwide, on April 3, in Hanoi.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen chaired the meeting.

In the first quarter of 2025, the Fire and Rescue Police Force actively advised the Party, the National Assembly, the Government, MPS as well as local-level Party committees and authorities to take a wide range of measures to prevent fire, as well as improve fighting and rescue capabilities, contributing to curbing the risks of fires and explosions, minimizing damage caused by fires and ensuring security, order nationwide.

Notably, on March 30, the Fire and Rescue Police Department advised the MPS leadership to organize a ceremony to deploy a MPS rescue team to Myanmar in support of the ASEAN country’s earthquake relief efforts, an initiative highly appreciated by the Party, the State and the people.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen hailed the efforts and outstanding achievements of the entire Fire and Rescue Police Force in the first quarter.

Regarding key tasks in the coming time, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen requested that the Public Security Forces continue to effectively implement directions of the Government and MPS on fire prevention and fighting.

He also urged the Police Department of Fire Prevention and Rescue to thoroughly review and propose competent authorities to finalize guiding documents for the implementation of the Law on Fire Prevention, Firefighting and Rescue, while effectively carrying out the project to reduce risks of fire that cause serious losses of life and property.

The Deputy Minister also stressed the need to strengthen communication efforts to raise the public awareness of fire prevention, enhance fire safety inspection and provide detailed instruction on fire safety as well as fire prevention and fighting, and further administrative reforms in fire prevention and rescue work.
