MPS reviews implementation of Politburo’s Directive 05

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a meeting on May 14 to review the five-year implementation of Directive 05 issued on May 15, 2016 by the Politburo on enhancing the movement “Learning and following Uncle Ho’s thought, morals and style” as well as the four-year implementation of the movement “Building public security officer’s manners of bravery, humanity, devotedness to the people.”

The videoconference saw the presence of Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee Vo Van Thuong. General To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, chaired the event.

Delivering the opening speech, Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security, emphasized that since the Politburo issued Directive 05, the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS have determined the implementation of the movement “Learning and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morals, and style” as a regular essential task of the Public Security Forces. The Public Security Forces have also showed their respect and love for Uncle Ho by implementing the movement.

At the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security, briefed participants of the event on the results of the 5-year implementation of Directive 05, on enhancing the movement “Learning and following President Ho Chi Minh's thought, morals and style” and the four-year implementation of Directive No. 04 of the MPS on the movement “People's Public Security Forces follow Uncle Ho's teachings” in the new situation and the drive “Building public security officer’ manners of bravery and humanity and devotedness to the people”.

Various officers, soldiers and units under the MPS have been awarded noble titles by the Party, the State, for their outstanding achievements in the movements.

On behalf of the Politburo and the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, Mr. Vo Van Thuong appreciated the efforts and achievements gained by the Public Security Forces over the past time, and congratulated the officers honored at the event.

In the time to come, Thuong suggested the Ministry of Public Security continue to study and grasp the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and implement Directive 05 of the Politburo.

He also asked each public security officer to regularly improve their political stance, political knowledge, foreign languages, and technology skills and successfully fulfil their given tasks in the context of increasing globalization, international integration and strong scientific development. Each police officer should have sufficient knowledge and qualifications to successfully argue against false and hostile views, fight against political opportunists, protect the Party's ideological foundation, ensure social stability, and effectively serve the national construction and defense cause, and protect the peaceful life of the people.

Minister To Lam thanked the Party, the State, the people and the permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat for their special care for the Public Security Forces. He emphasized that the MPS will continue to follow and seriously implement the Politburo’s Directive 05.

Further, Minister To Lam asked all public security agencies and units to continue to thoroughly grasp directions of the higher levels, so as to successfully fulfill the tasks of protecting national security, ensuring order and safety, and building revolutionary, regular, elite and modern Public Security Forces by 2030.

All public security agencies and units should ensure security and absolute safety for national events and activities of leaders of the Party and State as well as the election of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.
