The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a meeting to review the Public Security Forces’ task performance in October and roll out the work plan for November, on the morning of November 4 in Hanoi.

Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang chaired the meeting.

In October, the MPS successfully organized the 8th Congress of the Public Security Central Party Organization, ensured absolute security and safety for the Signing Ceremony of the UN Convention against Cybercrime, and actively participated in rescue and relief operations to assist people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and floods.

The Public Security Forces also achieved notable results in combating economic, drug-related and hi-tech crimes, dismantling multiple large-scale and complex criminal networks.

At the meeting, under the moderation of Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To, delegates discussed a wide range of key issues related to the tasks of safeguarding national security and preventing and combating crime.

In his concluding remarks, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Minister Luong Tam Quang commended the entire Public Security Forces for their efforts and achievements in October.

Regarding key tasks in the coming time, Minister Luong Tam Quang requested all public security units and agencies to reach all of their annual targets, stressing that the quality, efficiency and outcomes of work in 2025 must surpass those in 2024.

The Minister directed the forces to take comprehensive measures to ensure absolute security and safety for the upcoming 14th National Party Congress, saying that the communal police force should maintain security at the grassroots.

He also urged police forces to take strong measures to reduce the domestic drug demand, and seek fundamental and sustainable solutions to curb online fraud and virtual kidnapping. 

In addition, the Minister stressed the need to strengthen the fight against crimes and violations of legal regulations on the use of weapons, explosives and combat gears, while proactively maintaining traffic order and safety during the year-end period as well as to reduce the number of traffic accidents.

Finally, Minister Luong Tam Quang underscored that under-ministerial departments should urgently support the local police forces and communities damaged by the recent floods.
