In April 2026, the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry’s leadership directed public security units and agencies nationwide to strictly and effectively implement the directives of the Party and State leadership on safeguarding national security and maintaining social order and safety, in support of socio-economic development and the country’s foreign affairs.

Accordingly, the Public Security Forces ensured security for high-level diplomatic activities of the Party and State, while safeguarding major political events, including the second plenum of the Party Central Committee, the first session of the 16th National Assembly, the Hung Kings Commemoration Day as well as activities marking the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification and International Workers’ Day, thereby creating a safe environment for people to enjoy the holidays.

The forces also successfully cleared organized and transnational crime cases, dismantled numerous criminal rings involved in theft, fraud and illegal gambling, uncovered networks supplying unsafe food to schools, and prosecuted various cases related to the production and trading of counterfeit goods and the use of banned chemicals in food production.

At the meeting, delegates comprehensively evaluated the work results of each unit and each force, candidly identified shortcomings, difficulties and their causes, and proposed key tasks for May 2026 and the coming period.
