Since the traffic has been easy over the past weeks, due to social distancing, many youngsters gathered and participated in illegal motor races along streets, causing public anxiety and casualties to on-duty traffic police officers and soldiers. Their illegal activities has also undermined the national effort in preventing the COVID-19 pandemic.

Against this backdrop, the MPS has ordered police forces, especially traffic one, to immediately suppress these illegal activities.

Accordingly, the traffic police force, in coordination with the mobile police, criminal police, and other police forces, should enhance regular and unscheduled patrols on routes or key areas in order to early detect and dismiss illegal motor races.

In addition, the police forces also should enhance management subjects with criminal records related to  illegal racing so as to effectively take preventive measures.  They should also strictly handle all racers and those involved in accordance with the laws.

Besides, the local police agencies and units should attach importance to disseminating the people about traffic safety regulations and  mobilize them to actively participate in prevention and combat against illegal motor-races, contributing to ensuring social order and safety from the grassroots level.
