MPS Vice Minister inspects traffic safety and order in Thua Thien-Hue

PSNews- On June 5 and 6 , a working delegation of the National Traffic Safety Committee led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security (MPS), Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee, had a working session with the Provincial People's Committee  (PPC) of Thua Thien - Hue and related units on order and traffic safety.

Vice Chairman of the Thua Thien-Hue PPC Nguyen Van Phuong said, in the recent times, the traffic safety situation in the province has witnessed positive changes and achieved many fine results, contributing to ensuring social security and order as well as socio-economic development of the province.

According to the Provincial Traffic Safety Board of Thua Thien-Hue, in the first five months of 2017, 201 traffic accidents have occurred, killing 58 people and injuring 201others. Particularly, 196 road accidents caused 52 deaths. The traffic police force has fined 27,173 cases, handed 23.5 billion VND to the Vietnam State Treasury.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son appreciated the efforts of Thua Thien-Hue province to ensure traffic order and safety over the time. Deputy Minister Son asked Thua Thien-Hue to further strengthen the implementation of the Prime Minister's instructions, directions and plans of the National Traffic Safety Committee to ensure traffic safety and order on roads, railway and inland waterways.

In addition, he also asked the Traffic Police and Traffic Inspectorate to expand coordination with relevant forces in checking traffic vehicles and strictly handling violations, especially drink-driving offences.

At the same time, the Deputy Minister suggested that the Thua Thien-Hue People's Committee should pay much attention to popularizing traffic culture in public, helping people more aware of traffic safety rules.
