MPS’s martial arts team snatch gold at international competition

PSNews - The Vietnam Ministry of Public Security's (MPS) mixed martial arts team won one gold medal and two silver medals at the international mixed martial arts tournament in Moscow after 6 days of competition.

The international mixed martial arts tournament ODKB Cup was wrapped up in Moscow on September 23. The tournament is held annually and often attracts many martial art practitioners form various countries.

This year’s event saw the participation of 135 athletes from six countries, including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Vietnam.

After 6 days of competition, Lo Thi Tam (24) won a gold while Trieu Thi Thuy (21) and Vu Thi Duong (17) won two silvers. They all were from the Public Security Forces Training and Sports Center.

According to Captain Vuong Dinh Khanh, deputy head of the Applied Sports Team of the Public Security Forces Training and Sports Center, and head of the Vietnam MPS mixed martial arts team, athletes from the MPS have won a high position at the tournament for years, contributing to improving Vietnam’s martial arts status in the international arena.
