MPS’s Women’s Union receives First-Class Fatherland Protection Order

PSNews – The Women’s Union of the Ministry of Public Security on March 3 held a solemn ceremony to celebrate the 35th anniversary (March 3, 1983) and to receive the First-Class “Fatherland Protection” Order.

The event saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, member of the Party Central Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women Union; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security; and Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Nam, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the People’s Public Security Forces.

Senior Colonel Ngo Hoai Thu, Chairwoman of the Women’s Union of the Ministry of Public Security emphasized that, over the past 35 years through 8 congresses since its inception, under the leadership of the Party, the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee, the Women Union of the Ministry of Public Security has well promoted their role as the representative organization to protect the legitimate rights and interests of all female officers and workers in the public security forces; and actively participated in building the Party organizations at all levels as well as building the People's Public Security Forces.

For their excellent achievements, the Women’s Union of Public Security has been honored with noble awards by the Party, the State, the Government and the Ministry of Public Security.

At the event, authorized by the President, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam awarded the First-Class “Fatherland Protection” Order to the Women’s Union of Public Security.

Speaking at the event, on behalf of the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam praised the glorious merits of the Women Union of Public Security and generations of female officers and workers of the People’s Public Security Forces.

Minister To Lam emphasized that the Central Public Security Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security have highly appreciated the efforts of the Women’s Union organization that has continuously improved both contents and methods of their movements so as to better promote political and ideological education as well as revolutionary ideals, morals, lifestyle among female public security officers and workers. The organization has also united all female public security officers and workers and promoted the spirit of self-reliance and creativity of female public security officers and workers in implementing policies of the Party, State, and political missions of the Public Security Forces.

Minister To Lam requested that female public security officers and workers should raise awareness of their positions, roles and responsibilities in performing the tasks of protecting national security and maintaining social order and safety. He urged all female public security officers and workers to thoroughly grasp, effectively implement the resolutions, directives of the Party, policies and laws of the State on women affairs.

He asked the Women’s Union  Committee of Public Security to better perform its function as a representative organization to protect the legitimate rights and interests of all women in the Public Security Forces; to actively advise the Central Public Security Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security on women affairs; to keep renewing contents and working methods in carrying activities in line with the spirit of the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress, the Resolution of the 12th National Congress of the Vietnam Women’s Union; to build a contingent of female public security officers with strong political will, good moral qualities, professional qualifications, creative thinking and enthusiasm at work.

The Minister of Public Security also asked all units’ leaders to continue to pay attention to female officers and workers and well implement gender equality.
