At the meeting, NA deputies were briefed on the position, functions, tasks and organizational structures of the Public Security (CAND) Newspaper and the Public Security Television (ANTV).
They also inspected the learning and implementation of the Party’s resolutions and guidelines on press work at the two public security press and media agencies as well as the results of their professional activities, their implementation of regulations on advertisement and publication, and the financial work of the two public security press agencies as non-profit units.
The leadership of the DIC created favorable conditions and provided support for the NA delegation to successfully conduct the survey.
At the event, Director of the DIC Major General Do Trieu Phong extended his great thanks to the National Assembly Committee on Culture and Education for their care and support over the past time. He also named the press agencies and publications under the management of the department.
Regarding its functions and missions, Major General Do Trieu Phong stressed that DIC is a special unit with different types of media and press publications. Over the time, the unit has always followed the Party and State’ policies, especially the Law on Press, and guidelines of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security.
In addition to the press work, the DIC is also one of the leading units in protecting the ideological foundation of the Party, fighting against false and hostile views.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Committee on Culture and Education Dang Xuan Phuong sincerely thanked the leadership of DIC as well as leaders of the CAND Newspaper and ANTV for their support.
He affirmed that the survey conducted at the DIC will help lawmakers consider amending and supplementing laws related to press activities.
