Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General To Lam chaired a working session with National Assembly (NA) deputies who work in the People's Public Security Forces, on the afternoon of October 23, in Hanoi.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam released that three law projects and five governmental reports drafted by the Ministry of Public Security are expected to be discussed during the ongoing NA sitting.

These include two draft laws, namely the Law on Identification and the Law on Forces Participating in Maintaining Security and Order at the Grassroots, submitted to the National Assembly by the Government at the 5th NA sitting, are expected to be passed by the NA during this session.

At the meeting, deputies were also briefed by Director of the Department of Legal Affairs and Administrative and Judicial Reform Major General Pham Cong Nguyen on major contents of the agenda for the 6th NA Session and the status of law projects drafted by the Ministry of Public Security and submitted to the 15th National Assembly at the 6th Session.

Overview of the meeting.

In particular, the draft law on forces participating in maintaining security and order at the grassroots has been revised so it currently has 34 articles, an increase of 3 articles compared to the draft law presented to the NA at the 5th Sitting.

After listening to remarks made by Chairman of the National Assembly's National Defense and Security Committee Le Tan Toi, delegates discussed the law projects as well as related contents.

Concluding the meeting, Minister To Lam asked NA deputies working in the People's Public Security Forces to uphold the sense of responsibility and actively explain queries of other deputies about the draft laws.
