Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Mr. Pham Gia Tuc, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee attended the event.

Directive No. 36-CT/TW was issued on August 16, 2019, by the Politburo regarding the fight against illicit drugs.

Reporting on the role of the Party Committee of the Nam Dinh Provincial Police Department in leading the local police units in imlementing Directive No. 36-CT/TW, a representative from the Party Committee of the Nam Dinh Provincial Police Department released that the Party Committee had led all local police units to seriously and effectively implement Directive No. 36-CT/TW, and promptly advise the Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee to issue guiding documents.

As a result, the local police units successfully controlled illicit drug trafficking and drug-related crime, contributing to maintaining political security, public order and safety as well as promoting socio-economic development and ensuring a peaceful and happy life for the people in the province.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc acknowledged the role of the Party Committee of the Nam Dinh Provincial Police Department in leading the local police forces to successfully implement Directive No. 36-CT/TW.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc also pointed out shortcomings in implementing the directive and requested the local police to overcome them.

Regarding major tasks of the local police in the coming time, he requested that the Nam Dinh Provincial Police Departemnt should manage drug addicts, and foster the regular communal police force to classify and resolve cases right from the grassroots level.
