Nam Dinh reviews prevention and fight against crimes and social evils

The Provincial Party and People’s Committees, the Steering Committee 138 of Nam Dinh province held a meeting on March 22 to call on all people to join prevention and fight against crimes and social evils.

The provincial police also announced a plan to build capacity of the communal police force. 

Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Vice Head of the Governmental Steering Committee 138 addressed the meeting. The event also saw the presence of leaders of the Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee and relevant agencies. 

According to reports at the meeting, from 2016 to 2020, Nam Dinh recorded some 2,600 criminal cases of various types, including robbery, murder, hi-tech crime and black credit. 

Delegates at the meeting discussed the local crime situation, causes of criminal cases as well as challenges for the police in preventing and combating crimes and social evils in the province. 

Among the solutions discussed, the delegates highlighted the importance of the communal police force and the need to improve their skills and qualifications. 

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Quy Vuong applauded the efforts and achievements of the police force in Nam Dinh in preventing and fighting against crimes and re-educating prisoners over the past time. 

He also asked the provincial police to take drastic measures to ensure security and order at the grassroots level, contributing to local socio-economic development, the building of new-style rural area and for a peaceful life of the people.
