Marital status data is a critical component of the National Population Database, directly related to essential public services such as birth registration, marriage registration, divorce proceedings, inheritance, death registration, and property transfers.

However, the current data remains fragmented and incomplete, resulting in inconveniences for citizens as well as inefficiencies and waste of resources for both state agencies and society.

The campaign aims to update data on all citizens’ marital status accurately and synchronously so that the updated data will be available and ready for use on the national information system, as well as displayed on the national digital identity application (VNeID).
