New Director of Information and Communication Department appointed

The Ministry of Public Security held a meeting on July 1 to announce decisions on personnel of the Public Security Department of Information and Communications (DIC).

Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security attended and delivered a keynote speech at the event.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To, at the event, announced and handed a decision on the appointment of Major General Do Trieu Phong, Director of the Immigration Management Department, to the position of Director of the DIC.

Under a decision by the Public Security Central Party Committee, the newly-appointed director would serve as the Secretary of the Party Committee of the DIC.

At the same event, Lieutenant General Mai Van Ha, former DIC’s Director, received the retirement decision by the Minister of Public Security.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To spoke highly of the effort and achievements made by Lieutenant General Mai Van Ha in his career from a junior police officer to a general-rank officer as well as during the time when he served as the DIC’s Director.

He also appreciated the expertise and experience of Major General Do Trieu Phong, who is now taking on DIC’s Director.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To asked the newly-appointed director of the DIC to do his best to fulfil all given tasks.

Lieutenant General Mai Van Ha expressed his thanks to the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS leadership for their recognition of his effort. He also thanked all officers and civilian workers at the DIC for their great support, saying that their close cooperation and effective support had helped him accomplish all assigned missions.

Major General Do Trieu Phong, for his part, vowed to do his best to fulfil all given tasks as the head of the DIC.
