New Public Security Theater to be built in Hanoi

PSNews – A new Public Security Theater will provide better conditions for artists of the Public Security Forces to practice and perform arts and better entertain public security officers and soldiers, said a high-ranking official of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) at a meeting on July 29.

A new Public Security Theater will provide better conditions for cadres and artists of the Public Security Forces to practice and perform arts and, serving the cultural and spiritual needs ofbetter entertain the forces and also promote the country's cultural valuespublic security officers and soldiers, said a high-ranking official of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) at a meeting on July 29 of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee and MPS.

General To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security chaired the meeting on the project to build a new Public Security Theater. The meeting saw the attendance of Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Khanh Hai, and Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People's Committee Nguyen The Hung.

At the meeting, Major General Dao Gia Bao, Director of the Department of Party and Political Work under the Ministry of Public Security briefed the Minister and delegates on the progress of implementing the Public Security Theater project.

Delegates discussed and gave comments on the project. They expressed their support for the decision of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security to build the new Public Security Theater.

The delegates also promised to coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security in implementing this important project.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam stressed the need of the political and ideological work in the Public Security Forces, saying that cultural and artistic activities play an important role in promoting spiritual strength, solidarity, unity and optimism and trust of public security soldiers and officers.

The Ministry of Public Security has a drama troupe, a cinema troupe and a dance and music troupe. In addition to regular and professional artistic activities to serve the Public Security Forces, the troupes also organize many public art performances to serve the people, especially those in remote areas.

Thus, Minister To Lam emphasized that the new Public Security Theater will provide better conditions for and artists of the Public Security Forces to practice and perform arts, so as to better serve public security officers and soldiers as well as people.

The Standing Board of the Public Security Central Party Committee approved the project to build the new Public Security Theater Project during a meeting on May 9, 2019.

The theater will be located in Yen Hoa ward, Cau Giay district, Hanoi city. The Public Security Central Party Committee has determined the theater as a key project to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the National Day (September 2, 1945-2020), 75th anniversary of the August Revolution and 75th founding anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945-2020).
