General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Minister of National Defence, presided over the event. The event also saw the presence of various chiefs of the police and military forces.

The rehearsal comprised two main segments, featuring a formation of 18 standing blocks and 43 marching ones. Among them were seven female military units, representing military musicians, medical officers, Vietnamese peacekeepers, special forces, communications personnel, ethnic militia, and southern guerrillas. Additionally, two female police units took part, representing traffic police and special task force officers.

Significantly, after a 40-year absence, military artillery tractors and specialized police vehicles will once again parade through the historic Ba Dinh Square, showcasing the growth and strength of the people’s armed forces under the Party’s leadership over the past decades.

Following the completion of basic training at their respective units, the forces have been mobilized to concentrated training centers since June 5.

At the event, General Nguyen Tan Cuong offered words of encouragement and support to the female units, many of whose members have families and young children. Despite these challenges, the female officers have shown great dedication, training with serious discipline and spirit, helping to highlight the image of women in the armed forces as both graceful and strong in the parade formation.

These efforts, he said, will ensure that the upcoming parade—celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day—is conducted in a solemn and meaningful manner.

He also extended his best wishes to all officers and soldiers for good health, effective training, strict discipline, confidence, and the successful fulfillment of their duties.
