Over 500 police officers of Quang Nam deployed to support locals in floods

PSNews – The Provincial Police Department of Quang Nam has mobilized over 500 officers and soldiers and various vehicles to guide traffic flows in flooded road sections, and carry out rescue plans.

Heavy rains on December 9 and 10 resulted in floods in various areas of Quang Nam. Many road sections were under water; many sections of the 1A National Highway were submerged by flood water and cut off.

The Provincial Police Department of Quang Nam has deployed over 500 officers and soldiers to gulfed road sections to guide traffic flows and to flooded residential areas to conduct rescue plans. The Director of the Provincial Police also required all sub-units to stay alert around the clock.

The Traffic Police, Waterway Police and Fire Police as well as Police of Phu Ninh district and Tam Ky city also deployed forces to isolated areas to support and evacuate local people.

By noon of December 10, the local police in coordination with relevant forces had evacuated 450 households and their assets mainly in in communes of Tam Dan, Tam An (Phu Ninh district) and Tam Thang (Tam Ky city) to safer places.
