Party organization of Ministry of Public Security's Office holds Party Congress

PSNews - The Party organization of the Ministry of Public Security’s (MPS) Office held its 9th Party Congress for the 2020 – 2025 term in Hanoi on August 30 and 31.

The event saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of Public Security Central Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security; Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Member of the Party Central Committee, member of the PSCPS and Deputy Minister of Public Security; Major General Tran Quoc To, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the PSCPC and Deputy Minister of Public Security; 

Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the PSCPC and Deputy Minister of Public Security; Major General Le Tan Toi, Member of the PSCPC and Deputy Minister of Public Security, among representatives of various PSCPC’s subordinate Party organizations.

According to the draft political report presented at the Congress, in the last term, the MPS Office’s Party organization actively grasped the situations and promptly advised the PSCPC and the MPS to propose strategic solutions to the Party and the State on ensuring security and social order.

As a result, the resolutions and directives were issued by the Party Central Committee and PSCPC in a timely manner, meeting the practical requirements of ensuring political security and fighting against crimes of all kinds, and contributing to stabilizing the security situation, maintaining social order and safety, safeguarding the peace and happiness of the people. Their achievements over the past time were recognized and appreciated by the leaders of the Party, the State, and the people.

Additionally, the Party organization also served as the assistant to the MPS’s leaders in directing all public security agencies and units to perform their assigned tasks as well as promoting working coordination among public security units and agencies. 

The Party organization’s efforts in the last term contributed to protecting absolute safety of important political events and socio-economic events of the country, including the 12th National Party Congress, the 14th National Assembly election, meetings of the Government and other Central-level agencies, and international events within the framework of the APEC 2017, the 2019 Vesak, and the 2nd US-DPRK Summit.

During the past term, the Party organization also gave advice to the MPS’s leadership on solutions to complex security issues, such as protests and social order disturbances at BOT toll stations, illegal exploitation of sand and gravels on rivers. It also assisted the PSCPC and the MPS to direct the Public Security Forces to implement drastic and effective preventive measures against the COVID-19 pandemic following the Government’s guidelines.

The MPS Office’s Party organization well performed its function of providing official information about the Public Security Forces to the public via the MPS’s web portal. The spokesperson of the MPS promptly gave official statements and information on issues related to the forces’ task performances to the press and the public, contributing to orientating public opinion and struggling wrong and hostile views.

Regarding Party and force building work, the Party organization continuously renovated its leadership methods and improved the quality of its advice and service to the superior Party committees and leaders.

Speaking at the congress, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To affirmed that the achievements of the MPS Office’s Party organization over the past term have contributed significantly to the Public Security Forces’ successful implementation of the Resolution of the 6th Public Security Party Congress for the 2015 – 2020 term.

Given the complex security situations in the country and the world in the coming time, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To requested the Party organization to make further efforts in order to successfully complete its assigned political tasks.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Party organization in the next term should improve its leadership and combat capacity to deserve to be the highest advisory agency to the PSCPC and the MPS.

At the Congress, the delegates elected a Party Executive Committee for the term of 2020-2025 and a delegation to attend the 7th Public Security Party Congress.
