Patient with complex heart attack cured by Hospital 30-4

PSNews - After a more-than-2 hours cardiovascular surgery at the Cardiac Intervention Unit of Hospital 30-4 under the Ministry of Public Security, Mr. Tran Dao H (52 y.o police officer) escaped dangerous situation.

“This is the first time, the hospital has successfully conducted such an operation, replacing 6 coronary stents inside a patient (tube-shaped device placed in the coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart, to keep the arteries open in the treatment of coronary heart disease),” said Doctor Cao Thai Son, head of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery.

He also said that the patient was brought to the hospital when many blood vessels were damaged. “His life was at risk, which required us to conduct an immediate operation.”

According to his health records, Tran Dao H. had had a heart disease, and his health worsened when he worked hard on an overseas business trip. The police officer was then taken back to Vietnam and hospitalized at Hospital 30-4.

According to the health’s examination, H. had the coronary artery disease, leading to a heart attack. Thanks to the hospital’s modern medical equipment and doctors’ good expertise, the patient’s life has been saved.

According to Doctor Cao Thai Son, Hospital 30-4 has successfully cured many patients with serious illnesses like H. from all over the country. Since the beginning of 2016, 12 patients, who were in life threatening condition, have been cured of heart attacks.

Particularly, with the medical technical support from experts of Cho Ray Hospital and Ho Chi Minh City Medicine and Pharmacy University, many techniques have been successfully applied in medical treatment at Hospital 30-4, such as endoscopic surgery in removing thyroid; liver surgery with the use of ultrasonic knives….

Besides, in order to improve the quality of health care, Hospital 30-4 efficiently provides scientific consultancy activities. The hospital has also well applied information technology to the management and treatment as well as its administrative reforms, in line with the guidance of the Ministry of Health, contributing to creating the most favorable conditions for patients.
