People provide 60,000 pieces of information about crimes to police

PSNews – The Police Investigation Agency’s Office under the Ministry of Public Security on May 25 held a conference to review the sector’s task performance in the first half of 2018 with the chair of its head, Lieutenant General Tran Van Ve, Acting Director of the Police General Department.

In the first 6 months of 2018, the investigation agencies of the Ministry of Public Security at all levels have taken many new, creative and active operational measures in fighting criminals.

The police force has effectively implemented peak drives of attacking criminals; conducting armed patrols; and recovering weapons, explosives, shells and support tools from people.

In addition, the investigation police sector from the Central level to local has focused on destroying gangs and criminal hubs led by dangerous criminals. The investigation and handling of crimes have been conducted correctly under the laws.

According to reports at the event, the police force has also destroyed many large drug-related rings and high-profile criminals.  In the first half of 2018, the investigation agencies at all level have received 60,000 pieces of valuable information on crimes from the people, investigated nearly 50,000 cases, and prosecuted nearly 2,000 criminal cases with 34,000 subjects arrested.

Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant General Tran Van Ve emphasized the key tasks of the police force in the last 6 months of 2018, saying that the force should actively grasp the situation and make good forecasts on situational developments; strive to reduce crimes, especially crimes of murder resulting from social issues; effectively combat crimes of human trafficking, drug-related crimes, and economic and environment crimes.
