People’s Police Academy opens 2016-2017 academic year

The People’s Police Academy held an opening ceremony of the 2016-2017 academic year today, October 17, in Hanoi with the participation of Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security.

President Tran Dai Quang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha sent flowers to congratulate the Academy.

Attending the ceremony today were also Lieutenant General Tran Ba Thieu, head of the General Department of Politics and representatives from functional units, Academies, Colleges and local police forces under the Ministry of Public Security.

On the side of the People's Police Academy were Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, Party Committee Secretary, President of the Academy, other leaders of the Academy and representatives, officers, lecturers and all staff, employees and student who are working, researching and studying at the Academy.

Opening the ceremony, Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem said, along with the growth and development of the People's Police Force, 2015 - 2016 is an academic year with great significance, marking the development of the People's Police Academy after 48 years of building and growth.

The number of lecturers with certificates of Professor, Associate Professor, and Doctor of the People's Police Academy currently stands firstly among the public security training institutions, he added.

Speaking at the event, Minister To Lam noted and appreciated excellent achievements that generations of staff, officers and students of the Academy have achieved in recent time.

He urged the People's Police Academy to take measures to implement the development schedule creatively, initiatively and self-improve to organize the process of education, training, quality and efficiency in order to successfully implement the objectives and tasks of the new academic year.

On this occasion, Minister To Lam and head of the People's Police Academy had launched the Academy’s online-system.
