People’s Police Academy reviews 25 years of postgraduate training

PSNews – The People’s Police Academy on December 2 held a conference to review and summarize the 25 years of postgraduate training.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security attended the conference.

The conference also saw the participations of the leaders of the Northwest Steering Committee; leaders of the General Department of Politics of the Public Security Forces; representatives from relevant units, schools and academies of the forces and a number of foreign guests.

As the key training institute of the Vietnamese Public Security Forces, in 1992, the People’s Police Academy was assigned to conduct postgraduate education and training by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Public Security. Accordingly,  it is responsible for developing high-quality human resources for the Public Security Forces in the new context by conducting postgraduate courses for public security officers.

During the 25 years thanks to the sound leadership and direction of the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, the Academy has attained remarkable achievements in spite of mounts of difficulties.

Over the past 25 years, the People's Police Academy has trained thousands of masters, hundreds of high-quality PhDs for the People’s Public Security Forces, for the Vietnam People's Army as well as for  Laos and Cambodia.

Addressing the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh, on behalf of the Central Public Security Party Committee praised the achievements that the People's Police Academy has obtained in the past 25 years of postgraduate training.

In the context of globalization and international integration, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh underscored, the Academy should be fully aware of the requirements for postgraduate education and training for the academy continuously renovates and improves the quality of its postgraduate education and training process programs with the aim of producing high-quality intellectual outcomes for the Public Security Forces, other domestic sectors and foreign partners.

He asked the Academy to pay due attention to carrying out research on new education and training methods to encourage learners to be more active and dynamic in their studying for better outcomes.

The Deputy Minister also suggested that the academy should also renew the method of evaluating research theses of students. According to him, research theses should meet such key requirements as new theoretical ideas and new solutions to major practical issues with high feasibility and applicability in the reality.
