People’s Police College 6 opens new academic year

PSNews – The People’s Police College 6 held a grand ceremony to open the 2016 - 2017 academic year on November 16th afternoon. 

The event was attended by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Bang, Director of the Police General Department of Criminal Verdict Execution and Judicial Assistance; Major General Bui Minh Giam, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics; as well as officers, lecturers and students of the college. 

Senior Colonel, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, rector of the People’s Police College 6 stated that, over the past 9 years, the College has successfully trained 7 full-time courses for nearly 10,000 students and part-time courses for over 2,000 students.

Currently, the People's Police College 6 has 2 professors, 4 doctors, 124 masters and nearly 100 others doing their postgraduate courses. Alongside is training and education, the college has continuously promoted. It has so far approved one ministerial-level and seven basic-level research projects.

In the 2015 – 2016 academic year, the college handed  over higher school certificates to 1,107 graduates, of whom, which include one reached the excellent level and 76 obtained the very-good level. In particular, 97 trainees got promoted prior to their service terms. The People’s Police College 6 also received the emulation flag of the Ministry of Public Security. 

Addressing the new academic year ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh lauded the outcomes of the College, which contributed much to the public security education and training as well as the national education and training sector of the country. 

In the current complex context, the criminal verdict execution work has met more difficulties ever than before. Thus, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh instructed the College to renew teaching methods, aiming to improve the efficiency of education quality.

“The People’s Police College 6 should maintain the training concept of combining theory and practice and closely cooperate with the Police General Department of Criminal Verdict Execution and Judicial Assistance as well as prisons to create connections between the training institution and units using its outputs”, he underscored.
