People's Public Security Academy of Politics holds second Party Congress

PSNews - The Party organization of the People's Public Security Academy of Politics held its second Party Congress for the 2020 – 2025 term on August 27.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Assoc. Prof., Dr., Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended and delivered a speech at the Congress.

In the last term, the Party organization promoted unity and led the academy to successfully fulfill all assigned tasks. During the time, the school organized 18 full-time and second-degree training courses for nearly 14,000 students as well as opened 161 high- and intermediate- level refresher courses on politics for more than 20,000 cadres and training courses on professional skills for nearly 3,000 trainees.

Further, the school conducted five State-level, 20 ministerial-level, and 25 grassroots-level scientific research projects. It also organized 21 symposiums, two national-level seminars and more than 50 other workshops related to national security, social order and safety, and development of the Public Security Forces.

At the congress, delegates discussed and contributed ideas to the draft political reports. They also elected the Party Executive Committee of the Party organization for the 2020 – 2025 term and a delegation to attend the 7th Public Security Party Congress.

Speaking at the Congress, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh spoke highly of the achievements of the Party organization in the last term.

He requested it to pay more attention to building a strong and clean Party organization and a healthy educational environment at the academy while renovating its leadership methods and enhancing its combat capacity.
