People’s Public Security Political Academy opens 2016-2017 academic year

PSNews - The People’s Public Security Political Academy held a grand ceremony to open the 2016-2017 academic year on October 27, in Hanoi with the participation of Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security.

The event was also attended by Mr. Truong Minh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Minister of Information and Communications, Mr. Ha Dang, former member of the PCC, former Editor in Chief of the Nhan Dan Newspaper, Senior Lieutenant Dang Van Hieu, former member of the PCC, former Deputy Minister of Public Security, Lieutenant General Nguyen Danh Cong, Chief of the Office of Ministry Public Security and representatives from ministries, central agencies and branches.

President Tran Dai Quang; Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan; Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Organization Pham Minh Chinh; Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh; Chief of the Party Central Committee's Office Nguyen Van Nen; Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha sent flowers of congratulation to the Academy.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General, Prof. Dr. Truong Giang Long, President of the Academy, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Public Security Forces highlighted the academy’s achievements since it was established 2 years ago.

During the time, the People’s Public Security Political Academy successfully fulfilled all assigned political tasks. It has now become the leading center of political training and theoretical research of the People’s Public Security Forces.

The President of the Academy released that in the last academic year, the academy conducted 100 classes with the enrollment of nearly 12,000 students and 20 scientific research projects. Apart from its staff of nearly 300 lecturers, the Academy also invited more than 100 professors, associate professors and leading scientists to give lectures to students.

For its achievements, the academy was presented 2 Emulation Flags in the last two years by Ministry of Public Security.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security praised the great efforts made over the past 2 years by cadres, lecturers and cadets of the People’s Public Security Political Academy, especially in providing courses on the public security issues for key officials of the Party and State, and the Ministry of Public Security.

He also asked the Academy to continue to promote scientific research and innovation on advanced teaching and learning methods and on the Public Security Force building in the new context.

On this occasion, Minister To Lam awarded 4 individuals in acknowledgement of their contributions in the previous academic year, and ordered to launch the Academy’s Cyber Portal.
