People’s Security University opens 2018-2019 academic year

The People’s Security University on October 9 held a ceremony to open its 2018-2019 academic year in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, and Senior Lieutenant General Bui Quang Ben, former Deputy Minister of Public Security.

At the ceremony, under the authorization of the State President, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son pinned the insignia of the First-class Fatherland Defense Order on the school's traditional flag.

The ceremony also aimed to celebrate the 55th founding anniversary of the People’s Security University.

Delivering the opening speech, Major General Dang Van Doai, Director of the People’s Security University, welcomed and congratulated 185 newly-enrolled students. He also briefed delegates on the university’s development during its 55-year history.

According to Major General Dang Van Doai, the university has made a number of important breakthroughs in education and training during the last academic year.

In the 2017-2018 academic year, the university was awarded the First-class “Fatherland Protection” Order by the State President, while 80 collectives and individuals of the university were presented with noble titles by the Ministry of Public Security.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son congratulated the university on its large achievements in recent years. He then urged the institution to improve the quality of education and training in all kinds of courses, as well as the quality of scientific research to serve the academy’s long-term development and become a modern university of the Public Security Forces.
