Phu Tho Provincial Police honored for outstanding achievements

PSNews – The Phu Tho Provincial Police Department was awarded the Emulation Flag by the Government in 2018, marking the 20th time in a row the provincial police had received such a noble title from the Government and the Ministry of Public Security.

The Provincial Police of Phu Tho gained various achievements in the “For National Security” movement in 2018. During the year, the provincial police force ensured safety for political events of the country and the province. Additionally, the local police force made a positive change in ensuring local social order and safety. The number of criminal cases reduced 7.56% in comparison with the previous year while the rate of successful investigation of serious cases exceeded 97%.

Among their outstanding merits, the Phu Tho Provincial Police successful investigated the case in which offenders made use of the internet to illegally appropriate property, organize and play gambling, and illegally trade invoices in various provinces and cities nationwide.

The results of the investigation into the online gambling case have showed that the network had 25 agents level 1 and over 5,800 agents level 2 and nearly 43 million accounts used by some 14 million gamblers to gamble online. Meanwhile, the online gambling ringleaders illegally benefited over 9.8 trillion VND.

The Provincial Police of Phu Tho also cracked down on 35 criminal gangs and arrested 117 persons involved, contributing to curbing criminal offences in the province. Additionally, the Provincial Police also investigated 137 cases of economic crimes and corruption, and arrested 152 related offenders in 2018.
