Dong Cam dam is the largest irrigation project in Phu Yen. The construction of the Dong Cam dam started in 1924 in Phong Hau Commune, Hoa Hoi District, and it was inaugurated in September 1923.

Since it began operation, the dam has made significant contributions to improving irrigation to local rice paddies and increasing rice productivity, thus enhancing the living conditions of the local people.

Dong Cam dam is not only an example of an irrigation structure that successfully facilitates agricultural production but also a noted scenic spot on Ba River.

The Dong Cam Festival is held on the eighth day of the first lunar month every year to pay tribute to services of those who contributed to the construction of the dam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee Ta Anh Tuan asked the management board of Dong Cam dam and the local authorities to further protect and promote the values of the site.

He also requested the local Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to advertise the site on media towards making it an attractive tourist destination for visitors from both inside and outside the province.
