Phuoc Son police support residents in mountainous areas

PSNews –The police of Phuoc Son district (Quang Nam) have mobilized other forces to help local people build concrete roads and houses, contributing to local economic development and poverty reduction, in addition to their main tasks of maintaining security and order in the mountainous area.

Local residents in village 1 (Phuoc Duc commune, Phuoc Son district) had ever dreamt of covering the 200-meter-long path leading to their village with concrete for better transportation. But they themselves had not been able to realize their dream, due to their economic difficulties.

During rainy days, the path became muddy and causing various troubles to local residents, said Ho Van Chanh, resident of village 1.

Knowing their difficulties and hardships, the police of Phuoc Son mobilized various units and agencies in the region to fund for the cost and deployed 160 police officers and soldiers to upgrade the road.

Ho Thi Thom, resident of village 1, expressed her joy over the newly-built concrete road and thanks to the district police for their support.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hoang, Head of the General Section of the Phuoc Son District Police said that residents of mountainous areas of the district face various difficulties in transportation.

In addition to upgrading the roads, the Phuoc Son police also helped local people build their houses and stabilize their lives.

Phuoc Son is home to various illegal gold mining fields. Many people, including criminals, taking advantage of the perilous terrains of the region, are illegally mining gold in the locality. Additionally, increased drug trafficking and trade are also worsening local security and order.

As a result, the local police force undertake two main missions: supporting local people in hunger elimination and poverty reduction, and  curbing crimes and maintaining a peaceful life for the people.
