Police forces of Quang Nam and Se Kong strengthen coordination in combating drug trafficking

The Quang Nam Provincial Police Department (Vietnam) and Se Kong Provincial Public Security Department (Laos) jointly organized a conference to summarize and evaluate the results of cooperation in preventing and fighting drugs between the two provinces' police forces, on the morning of December 21, in Tam Ky City (Quang Nam).

At the conference, Deputy Director of the Quang Nam Provincial Police  Department Senior Colonel Nguyen Ha Lai said that the two provinces' police forces have actively coordinated in performing their tasks, sent working groups to each other to exchange information and working experience, and jointly carried out cooperation programs in line with the Memorandum of Understanding on counter-drug cooperation in 2023, contributing to ensuring security and order in each province and on the shared borderlines.

Regarding the orientations for the bilateral cooperation in 2024, the police forces of Quang Nam and Se Kong provinces will join efforts to comprehensively survey the border areas of the two provinces, jointly deploy law dissemination drives for people living on both sides of the borderline, as well as team up to conduct patrol along the shared borderline, combat crime along the shared borderline, especially drug trafficking.

The two sides also agreed to increase information and working experience sharing and cooperate closely in training and building capacity of police officers in charge of countering drugs.
